Phuket Island Guide

Phuket is the largest island in Thailand and a popular resort destination for travelers from Europe, North America, Japan, Korea, and other parts of Asia. The island is lined with numerous pristine white-sand beaches and is often called "the Pearl of the Andaman Sea." Facing the Andaman Sea in the Indian Ocean, Phuket offers popular day-trip diving tours to nearby Racha Island in the south and Phi Phi Islands to the southeast. Diving cruises to the Similan Islands from Khao Lak on the mainland are also popular. Snorkeling and other water sports are widely available, with daily tours to nearby Coral Island and Khai Islands. In neighboring Phang Nga Bay, sea canoe tours allow visitors to explore the unique limestone formations. Beyond the sea, Phuket also offers lush natural areas for activities such as zip-lining and elephant trekking.
