Choosing Tours by Season

Phuket is a tropical island with a year-round warm climate. The year is broadly divided into two seasons: the dry season (November–April) and the rainy season (May–October). During the dry season, the sea is calm, making island tours to destinations like the Phi Phi Islands especially popular. During the rainy season, waves can be stronger, so some Phi Phi tours may be canceled on certain days. A recommended alternative during the rainy season is Kai Island. Just 15 minutes from Phuket, it lies in the shadow of the main island, sheltered from monsoon winds, allowing visitors to relax on the beach even when other Phuket beaches are closed. The rainy season still offers plenty of adventures: sea canoeing in Phang Nga Bay and rafting benefit from higher water levels, showcasing the area's lush nature in a dramatic way. Racha Yai Island also reaches peak conditions during this period, offering the clearest waters in the surrounding islands and making it ideal for snorkeling and diving. With its diverse seasonal landscapes, Phuket is a resort island that can be enjoyed in many ways throughout the year.
