A large beach located between Patong Beach and Kata Beach
Stretching almost straight for 3.3 km south of Patong Beach, beyond the cape, Karon Beach is situated between Phuket’s two major beaches, “Patong Beach” and “Kata Beach.”
Compared to Patong Beach, there are fewer people on the beach and fewer flashy umbrellas, giving it a calmer atmosphere. The sand quality is good, and overall it is a high-level beach, but compared to Patong or Kata Beach, it has less of a resort feel. It is recommended for those who prefer a quieter, less crowded beach.
The central part of the beach is straight. A road runs between the Karon Beach hotels and the beach, so there is moderate vehicle traffic. Regardless of which hotel you stay at, you may not feel fully integrated with the beach. However, Karon Beach is the largest beach on the west side of Phuket (excluding Surin Beach at the northern end) and spreads widely into the Andaman Sea, making the water cleaner and the beach high-quality.
Many affordable accommodations
Compared to Patong and Kata Beaches, there are many reasonably priced accommodations, making it popular with long-term Western visitors. For those who prefer a relaxed pace, Karon Beach is also recommended. The town of Karon lies between two roads, with most hotels, restaurants, and shops along the beachside. Casual restaurants and supermarkets are mainly around the northern roundabout and Patak Road to the south. Karon Beach faces the west, allowing visitors to enjoy beautiful sunsets over the Andaman Sea.
Karon Beach hosts many beach events. Various competitions and concerts are held approximately every six months. Future schedules are undecided, but here are some past events.
<Phuket Karon Beach Volleyball Tournament>

It is held around the King’s birthday, during the first and second weeks of December. Many yachts can be seen from Karon Beach during this period.
