Diving at Racha Yai Island
Racha Yai Island is located about 20 km south and approximately 1 hour 30 minutes by diving boat from Phuket. Popular with divers all year round, Racha Yai Island reaches its best conditions during the rainy season from May to October, when visibility is the highest among the surrounding islands. The east side of the island, accessible only during this season, offers a wide variety of dive points. From calm sandy bottoms to drift dives and wrecks, it is the most popular dive site in the area, suitable for both beginners and experienced divers. Licensed fun divers, Discover Scuba Divingrs, and even those not diving can join together on snorkeling tours. Perfect for couples, friends, or families to enjoy together.

Phuket has two main seasons: the high season from November to April, and the green season from May to October. During the summer months, the Indian Ocean is affected by the monsoon, which can cause high waves on some days, affecting offshore dive sites. Racha Yai Island, in contrast to many other dive sites, enjoys its best conditions during this period. The island has multiple diving points on both its west and east sides, allowing dives on the east side to avoid monsoon effects. During this season, water visibility around Racha Yai is at its highest, making it the perfect time for diving.

Racha Yai Island is a 12-km circumference island located about 25 km south of Chalong Bay, Phuket. It takes approximately 1 hour by diving boat to reach the island.

Important Information
- If you plan to fly or use other means of transport with pressure changes after diving, you must wait at least 24 hours after your last dive (for Discover Scuba Divings, wait at least 18 hours).
- The number of dives is indicative and may be reduced due to sea conditions or other factors. Please understand this in advance.
- Dive sites may be subject to change.
- Please do not bring valuables such as cash or passports on the tour apart from the tour fee.
- Check your belongings carefully when disembarking. Additional fees may apply for returning forgotten items.
- Participants with chronic illnesses, on medication, or who have undergone surgery may not be able to join. A medical certificate may be required, so please consult in advance.
- For a safe and enjoyable dive, if you have not dived for over a year, a refresher dive is recommended.
- If you use your own equipment, please ensure it has been properly maintained within the past year.
Please note that the following cancellation fees apply:
- Up to 8 days before: Free of charge
- 7 to 1 day before: 50% of the tour fee
- After 17:00 local time, the day before: 100% of the tour fee
The tour will operate even in rainy weather, provided it does not compromise the safety of the boat. Cancellation due to personal preference, including weather concerns, will incur the above fees.
Payment for the diving tour must be made in advance.
Payment can be made via bank transfer or credit card.
