For strict safety management, we limit Discover Scuba Diving to a maximum of 2 guests per instructor. HOBO-YA Phuket is proud to be the only dive shop to enforce such high safety standards.

Many families with children join our Discover Scuba Diving programs, so every HOBO-YA instructor is certified with
“EFR Care for Children” — a professional child emergency care license.

Discover Scuba Diving is conducted both at nearby islands by boat and at Phuket Beach.
A short boat ride from Phuket leads to islands with waters much clearer than Phuket Beach, with abundant coral and tropical fish. Racha Yai Island, popular year-round, offers high visibility and stable conditions and is just a one-hour boat ride from Phuket. During high season, half-day Discover Scuba Diving tours at Phuket Beach are also available. Experience a unique sensation as you float through colorful underwater scenery, creating unforgettable memories of your Phuket trip.
Discover Scuba Diving is not a difficult water sport.
Before diving, participants receive explanations from Japanese instructors and practice using the equipment. Safety is our top priority. Guests are never taken to deep water or left without guidance. Japanese instructors provide land-based explanations first and then guide guests in the water, allowing a safe and comfortable first diving experience at your own pace.
Instructors provide full support.
During Discover Scuba Diving, participants wear diving jackets that maintain buoyancy both underwater and on the surface. Diving equipment allows easy breathing underwater, so even non-swimmers can safely enjoy the underwater world around Phuket.
There is no age restriction for participants aged 8 and above.
If you are healthy and 8 years or older, you can join an Discover Scuba Diving experience. Families can also participate together and enjoy diving as a group.
You can participate together.
You can dive together with a licensed diver. In this case, there may be differences in allowable diving depths, so licensed divers will follow the limits of the Discover Scuba Diving experience. Families, friends, or couples can enjoy diving together safely.
Those taking medication cannot dive. If you have any pre-existing medical conditions, please consult us in advance.
Diving involves underwater pressure greater than on land, so individuals taking medication cannot participate. Additionally, high blood pressure, heart disease, pneumothorax, or other medical conditions may also prevent diving, so prior consultation is required.
