Kata Beach is located on Phuket’s west coast, south of Patong Beach. It is one of the best beaches for diving in Phuket, featuring reefs that extend from shallow waters to the open sea, where numerous tropical fish gather. Beginners can start Discover Scuba Diving safely from shallow areas where you can stand. Discover Scuba Diving at Kata Beach is available only during the dry season from January to April. You can choose either a morning or afternoon session, and it can be easily combined with other optional tours.

Kata Beach is a shallow beach on Phuket’s west coast with pure white sand. The maximum depth is around 10 meters, making it perfect for beginners, training, and half-day dives. Beach entry is possible, allowing divers to choose depth according to their skill level for a stress-free experience. The sandy bottom is home to juvenile gobies and glassfish, popular with beginner divers. Offshore coral reefs host schools of glassfish, lionfish, barracuda, and juvenile snappers, offering interesting sights for experienced divers and underwater photographers. During the rainy season (May–October), waves may prevent diving, but the dry season is calm with visibility around 10 meters. Kata Beach is also suitable for snorkeling, so both divers and non-divers can enjoy the experience together.
Discover Scuba Diving is available both on boat dives to nearby islands and on Phuket beaches.
Just a short boat ride from Phuket, you can reach nearby islands where the waters are much clearer than Phuket's beaches, with vibrant coral and tropical fish. The most popular island for Discover Scuba Diving with consistently high visibility throughout the year is 'Racha Yai Island,' just a 1-hour boat ride from Phuket. If the weather is favorable, breathtaking southern island scenery awaits. During the high season, half-day Discover Scuba Diving tours are available on Phuket’s beaches. Experience floating underwater among colorful coral and fish in Phuket’s warm waters—a unique sensation you’ve likely never felt before, creating unforgettable memories of your Phuket trip.
