Rescue Diver Course

The Rescue Diver Course is designed to build on the diving skills and knowledge acquired in the Open Water Diver and Advanced courses, training divers to respond to various diving emergencies effectively.

Read moreThe Rescue Diver Course consists of two parts: classroom sessions and open water diving practice. In the classroom sessions, you will study with an instructor using DVDs and manuals to learn how to prevent diving accidents and how to respond to them.
During the open water diving practice, you will train in various diver rescue skills, including identifying equipment issues, assisting distressed or anxious divers, and handling emergencies such as air depletion or buoyancy problems both at the surface and underwater. At the end of the course, you will apply the knowledge and skills learned to simulate real-life diving emergencies.

To be certified as a Rescue Diver, you must already be certified as an Advanced Diver or hold an equivalent license from another organization. Additionally, the Rescue Diver Course includes the React Right emergency first aid training. Our Rescue Diver Course includes React Right. The total duration required to complete the Rescue Diver Course and React Right training is three days.Close

Training Schedule

Image / Rescue Diver / Schedule #1On the first day of training, you will learn the foundational knowledge and skills for a Rescue Diver, including CPR and first aid in emergencies. This course is called the React Right emergency first aid course. You will gain confidence and readiness to lend a helping hand in critical situations, all in a relaxed learning environment.

Frequently Asked Questions

To take the SSI Diver Stress & Rescue course, you must be certified as an SSI Advanced Adventurer or hold an equivalent "Advanced Open Water Diver" certification from organizations such as PADI or NAUI. SSI and PADI certifications are mutually recognized, so having an Advanced Open Water certification from another organization is perfectly acceptable.

After completing the SSI Rescue Diver course, the next step is the Divemaster course. You are just one step away from the professional level. This course further develops the awareness of diving cultivated in the Rescue Diver course and helps establish your skills as a professional diver.

  • Swimsuit (any type is fine, but a less bulky swimsuit fits better under a wetsuit).
  • Towel
  • Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, etc.
  • Long-sleeved shirt or windbreaker for cooler days.
  • Bring writing materials and lunch for theory and pool sessions.

Join a diving tour!

To be certified as a Rescue Diver, you need to complete the SSI Diver Stress & Rescue course along with the "React Right" course, which teaches CPR and first aid methods. The rescue course includes theory, pool practice, and open water practical sessions, requiring a total of three days of training.

Individuals taking medication cannot participate in diving. Those with pre-existing conditions should consult in advance.
Diving subjects your body to pressure changes underwater. Those taking medication are unable to dive. Additionally, conditions such as high blood pressure, heart disease, pneumothorax, and other medical histories may prevent participation, so please consult us beforehand.

Important Information

  • After diving, you must wait at least 24 hours before flying or using any vehicle with significant pressure changes.
  • The number of dives is only a guideline and may be reduced depending on sea conditions. Please understand in advance.
  • Do not bring valuables such as cash or passports on the tour beyond the paid fees.
  • Check for personal belongings when disembarking. Additional fees may apply for returning lost items.
  • Dive sites may change. If visiting Phi Phi Island, an extra national park fee (600 THB/person/day) applies.
  • Those with a history of pneumothorax or currently using insulin or blood pressure medication cannot participate. Please check in advance.
    Please review the Medical Questionnaire and ensure none of the listed conditions apply (if any apply, a doctor’s note is required).

Cancellation fees for the tour apply as follows:

  • Up to 8 days prior: Free
  • 7 to 1 day prior: 50% of the fee
  • From 5:00 PM local time the day before: 100% of the fee

※ Tours run even in rain unless unsafe for boat operations. Customer-initiated cancellations incur fees.
※ After payment, a material fee (1,000 THB per person) applies for cancellations.
