Kata Beach is located on the west side of Phuket and features a long white sandy shallow beach. With a maximum depth of around 10 meters, it is ideal for beginners, trial dives, courses, and half-day diving. Beach entry diving allows divers to adjust their depth according to skill level, ensuring a stress-free experience. The white sandy seabed hosts juvenile gobies and schooling shrimpfish, popular among beginners. Offshore coral reefs feature dense schools of glassfish, lionfish, barracudas, and juvenile snappers, along with other rare marine life, making it enjoyable for experienced divers and underwater photographers. From May to October, during the rainy season, waves may be high and diving might be restricted, while the dry season offers calm conditions with visibility around 10 meters. Kata Beach is also suitable for snorkeling, so groups with divers and non-divers can all enjoy the area together.
