Located at the southernmost tip of Phuket Island, Promthep Cape offers spectacular views and is one of Phuket’s top tourist attractions. It takes about 30 minutes by car from Patong Beach.
The ocean viewed from Promthep Cape stretches across the Indian Ocean, creating a sense of vastness. It is also famous as the best spot to see Phuket’s most beautiful sunsets. On clear days, visitors can enjoy the sun setting into the horizon.
At the tip of the cape, which is the southernmost point of Phuket Island, there is a lighthouse, a board showing sunset times for each month, and a statue praying for maritime safety.
Around the parking area, there are souvenir shops and food stalls, and an open-air restaurant is located behind the cape, making it ideal to enjoy a snack while watching the sunset. Since taxis and tuk-tuks are scarce in the area, it is advisable to arrange transportation for the round trip.
